North Inch Gent's Open
The Open is being played on Saturday, 10 October, with tee times from 8am till 1pm and is a great opportunity for you to come and play at the revitalised North Inch Course. This will be a great way to get some competitive golf at the end of the season and maybe just pick up a wee prize voucher on the way!
We have prizes for scratch and handicap sections and also over 60's, along with the usual long drive and nearest the pin competitions.
We'd really like to have as many of you as possible come and play in the Gent's Open and play the course. Entering the Gent's Open couldn't be simpler. Simply call the starters box on 01738 636481 or email northinchgolf@pkc.gov.uk
Please tell all your golfing friends about our Gent's Open and here's hoping for a great days golf down at the Inch.

Winter Coaching Packages
We have had a fantastic response in the first week of taking bookings for this year's Winter Coaching Packages. Niall now has only 4 places left, so if you'd like to book in with him, then please give us a call on 01738 440678.
Our winter packages are available with Niall McGill, Andrew McHardy and Jonny Belford and consist of 5x 1 hour coaching sessions (1 lesson per month November to March).
Over the five sessions, we will really get to work on your game and work on making you a better player going into the 2016 season. To make these packages even more attractive, we offer them at a large discount over our summer season prices.
Due to Niall's work with North Inch Golf Course, he will only be available for lessons on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. If you'd like to book yourself some winter coaching, then give us a call on 01738 440678.
Play better golf - When the ball is above your feet
This week we are going to look at playing the ball when it lies above your feet. This shot requires some adjustment to your set up and aim.
Firstly, you are going to have to grip down the club slightly, anywhere from one inch to almost on the metal of the shaft depending upon how much the ball is above your feet. You should place the ball a little further back in your stance as the tendency when the ball is above your feet is to catch the ground a little early, and this change of ball position will help compensate.
The final piece of the set-up is to ensure that you aim to the right of your target as when the ball is above your feet the tilted angle on the clubface makes it point to the left. This can feel strange at first as your mind will tell you that you will leave your shots out to the right, but fear not the physics will take care of this!
When swinging, just keep your movement as smooth as possible, making sure that you complete both back and through swings, and remember that your ball should turn right to left in the air, a straight ball flight is not to be expected.
Fairway Distance Markers and Brush
This week we have been giving the 150 yard fairway distance markers a clean-up.
We removed them all and gave them a good hard pressure wash and the results are clear to see.
We have also ordered some new 200 and 100 yard markers to go onto selected holes, helping you to better gauge your distance into the green.
We have also ordered a shoe scrape/brush which will sit beside the starters box, so that you can clean your shoes before heading back to your car.
