The Masters is almost here!

I love the US Masters!

I say this every year, but it's one of my favourite golfing weeks of the year. I think it's a combination of the fantastic golf course at Augusta and the fact that having worked in golf for over 20 years, the Masters signs the end of the winter and time for us to get really busy!

It has to be all about Rory this year, as he works towards his career Grand Slam. If all the videos on social media are to go by, the Rory is certainly the man to beat. He has been working so hard on both his golf game and his strength and conditioning, that he's going to be a hard man to beat. Rory however, is still a very down to earth lad and has approached Bradley and offered to play 9 holes practice with him on Monday or Tuesday. Not bad for a lad from Blair!

Whatever happens, it looks like it's going to be another great week and with local boy Bradley Neil also playing in this years event, there is some home interest too. There are a number of Bradley's family and friends flying over for the event, so keep your eyes peeled when watching on TV!

If Bradley plays as we all know that he can, then he has a great chance of making the cut, which would be an amazing achievement on a golf course that can make fools out of the worlds best.

I'm also really hopeful that we can see the return or Tiger Woods. His private jet was seen at Augusta earlier this week and there are rumours of him striping it at his local track, so let's hope he makes a start. This would also be a huge boost for Bradley, as Tiger has also promised to play a practice round with Bradley, which could make a special week even more so for the youngster.

Play Better Golf - 3 Steps to a Better Impact

Impact position is the most important position in the golf swing but is very difficult to work on due to the momentum of the swing at this point. To work on improving your impact position requires you feeling how the correct impact position should be. Today I'll show you a great exercise to help you feel the correct impact position.

Step 1. From address position I want you to rotate your core (hips and navel) towards your target trying to create an impact position without making a backswing. Try to feel your body opening up to the target so that your weight shifts about 85% onto your left foot.

Step 2. From this pre-set impact position, you should now swing to the top of you backswing ensuring you make a centred pivot.

Step 3. Whilst the feeling of the pre-set impact position is still fresh in you mind, you should now swing through to a complete finish catching the ball on the way. With a little practice you should begin to create the correct impact position whilst you are hitting the ball.

Remember that a funky swing with good impact will play much better golf than a nice swing with poor impact!

Easter Junior Golf Coaching

We're running some junior golf lessons during the Easter Holidays. The lessons will be 4 hours in total and are Free of charge to all North Inch Golf Course Season Ticket Holders. The times of the classes will be as follows.

Monday 13th April - 1pm till 2pm 
Wednesday 15th April - 1pm till 2pm 
Friday 17th April - 1pm till 3pm (2 hours) 

The first 2 days we'll be working on the various parts of your game and on the 3rd day we'll take this to the course and will start playing golf for real. 

To take part in these classes, all you have to do is take out a junior Season Ticket on North Inch Golf Course, which costs just £20 for the full year. By taking out a ticket, you are entitled to 4 hours of Free coaching, worth £24! It's a WIN WIN !!

Visitor Golf at North Inch Golf Course 

If you're not a member of a club, but like to get out for a game of golf then North Inch Golf Course offers you the best value golf in Perthshire. 

At just £14 midweek and £20 at weekends, you can play one of the worlds oldest golf courses. The North Inch is a cracking course which offers lots of variety and at a little over 5400 yards and flat, it's an easy walking course.

Spread the payments of your Season ticket

You can now spread the cost of your Season Ticket over 10 months by signing up with Fairway Credit. Fairway is the UK's most popular golf club subscription payment scheme, with hundreds of golf clubs offering this service to their members. For a small extra cost of just 6.5% , you can start paying monthly for your ticket.

An adult ticket at £279 will cost you just £29.71 per month over 10 months.

A senior or young adult ticket at £189 , will cost just £20.40 per month.

New Golf Course Maintenance Contractor

We'd like to welcome ISS Facility Services (Landscaping) as our new Golf Course maintenance contractor as of 1st April 2015. 

We're looking forward to working closely with ISS to help present you with a golf course that you are proud to play. 

Our existing green keeping team of Glenn, Paul and Gary have transferred to ISS and will continue to work on the course. This local knowledge will be invaluable and will help the transition to be s seamless as possible. 

ISS have lots of experience in golf course maintenance and currently work on all types of golf courses from private members club and municipal's, all the way to resort courses.
