Improve your body rotation through the ball Today’s exercise will help you rotate your body better through impact. Poor rotation through the hitting area causes your clubface aim to be very inconsistent, and can make your shots spray all over the golf course. Firstly set your ball on a low tee and make your address position. You should now swing back to around chest high, ensuring that you rotate your shoulders and arms together. At this point, I like my players to make a short pause although this is not necessarily, I just find I get better results this way. From here I want you to swing through to chest high, making sure that you really fire your body as you start your downswing. If your body moves well through impact, then you should find that by the time your club reaches chest high on the follow through, your body is pointing at your target. This exercise will help keep your hands and body moving together and create a more consistent clubface at impact. If you swing too much with your hands and arms, then you will become trapped at impact, causing your wrists to flip over and sending the ball wildly left and right. This can be a tricky exercise to master but will really help your game. For more tips and help in improving your game please get in touch using the link below. |
