Ball Picker Maintenance

With the driving range being so busy, our ball picker has been working in overdrive for the past few weeks.

We thought it was about time that we showed it a bit of TLC and have fixed it up with new disc drums.

This means the machine will be much more efficient and will pick up every ball that it runs over, where is has recently been missing a few due to damaged dics.

New Large Screen TV

We have just invested in our second 55-inch large screen tv, to work with our second Trackman radar. Up until now, we have used the big TV with the Trackman simulator and custom fittings have been done from the iPad screen.

To enhance the customer experience during fittings and to further help with social distancing, we now have a second TV, where we will be able to screen cast the ipad. This will make the data much easier for everyone to see. T

Face Coverings from Friday 10th July

In line with Scottish Government rules, face coverings will be required to be worn in our golf store from Friday 10th July. Whilst using our golf driving range face coverings will not be required, but you will have to wear one when buying range balls and passing through the shop.

Please be aware that this is a mandatory precaution brought into force by the Scottish Government. Please be aware that we cannot grant access to the golf centre to anyone not complying.

Changes pay off for Bryson

Bryson DeChambeau’s beefed-up new look has had chins wagging since the restart of the PGA Tour. On Sunday, the added muscle mass delivered its first win. A seven-under final round brought his total to -23 for the week and gave ‘The Mad Scientist’ a three-stroke victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

The 26-year-old had decided it was time for a change at the back-end of 2019 and put his famed thinking cap (a Ben Hogan-style flat-cap) on to find a solution. The answer, he decided, was to gain muscle in order to drive further.

After finishing T3-T6-T8 in the first three events, this week DeChambeau was finally able to sink the critical putts. His driving distance (now No. 1 on the PGA Tour) has proven effective, but this week went to show that you can’t win without good putting.
