I hope you all are managing to cope during the newly imposed lockdown and without any golf. Although I was absolutely gutted to have to temporarily close down Noah’s Ark Golf Centre, Pitlochry Golf Pro Shop and North Inch Golf Course earlier this week, I know it was absolutely the correct thing to do. Hopefully, if we can all abide by the current restricted movement and social distancing restrictions, then the pressure will be gradually taken off the NHS and in a few weeks’ time, we will manage to see a gradual relaxation of the rules.
I understand that a number of golfers are a bit disappointed that the government did not allow the playing of golf to carry on, due to the outdoor nature of the sport and its built-in social distancing. I believe, we just have to do everything we possibly can to help get over this situation, as safely and quickly as possible, and continuing to play golf is just not worth the risk.
I don’t say this lightly, as my business, my staff and I are all suffering badly financially during this lockdown. Closing down golf has had a huge impact on us all.
I am looking forward to the day, in the not too distant future when we can welcome you all back to Noah’s Ark, Pitlochry Golf and North Inch.
