Weekly Group Coaching
We don't just offer 'one to one' private golf lessons at Noah's Ark, we also run weekly group coaching sessions for those who prefer to learn along with others. Our gent's class runs every Tuesday morning from 10.30-11.30am and our Ladies class is on a Thursday 10.30-11.30am.
The classes are run on a roll up basis, but if you'd like to guarantee your place, you can give us a call on 01738 440678. Our group classes cost £8 for 1 hours coaching, 100 range balls and a coffee after.
What has the North Inch got to offer the golfers of Perthshire?
Playability
Golf is a difficult game…. I think we're all in agreement with that statement.
Most of us also play golf for enjoyment (even though it doesn't always feel like that!). So, if golf is difficult and we play it for enjoyment, why do so many golf courses set themselves up like a Championship Course, with deep rough, narrow fairways and 7000 yard distances.
The current North Inch Golf Course was laid out by old Tom Morris and is a Challenging but manageable 5442 yards from the white tees and an enjoyable 5154yards from the yellows. This is golf for the normal person, golf that can be enjoyed and golf that may allow you to go home on a Saturday afternoon far less grumpy than you normally do!
For 2015 season, the thick rough that has previously surrounded the fairways at North Inch, will be cut to semi rough length making the course even more enjoyable to play. As far back as 1920, the famous golf course architect Dr Alister McKenzie of Augusta fame stated.
"There should be a complete absence of the annoyance and irritation caused by the necessity of searching for lost balls"
My mission is to make North Inch Golf Course the friendliest, most welcoming and accessible golf course within Perth & Kinross, for the people of Perth & Kinross.

Driving Range Membership
We're now well into November and before you know it Christmas will be upon us. With the wet weather we've been having and is forecast to come, this really is the time that you should be thinking about a driving range membership, so that you can work on your game throughout the winter.
At just £19.99 per month, this offers fantastic value for money and will give you the opportunity to really work hard on your game without breaking the bank. Driving range membership allows you to hit up to 100 range balls every day of the week for one low fixed monthly cost.
If you'd like some more information, or would like to sign up then just pop into the golf range and speak with one of our team.

Swing Tip - Keep Connected
If you want to consistently keep the ball in play, then you're going to have to keep your clubface as passive as possible throughout your golf swing. If your clubface is too active through excessive hinging and releasing of the wrists then you'd better be prepared to start shouting Fore!
Rory McIlroy in a recent interview explained how he has been working on making his backswing more connected and as a result, wider and shorter. This has all been in an effort to make it easier to get his club consistently back to the ball and it seems to be working!
From address, your first move away from the ball should be a connected rock of the shoulders where you maintain the triangle shape formed between your shoulders and arms.
This connected 'almost wooden feeling should continue until the top of your backswing. If your move away gets disconnected and your hands start to take over, then you're going to lose the width to your swing and as a result you'll also lose control of your clubface.
When this occurs it will be almost impossible to return your clubface to the ball with any consistency.
Try practicing this movement in front of a mirror at home until you become comfortable with the feeling then get out & take it to the range and course.
