Clear up work at North Inch
Today, golf starter Gerry and I started the clear up work of the driving nets at North Inch. We plan to get these back into play for next season, so that you'll be able to warm up properly before you go out for your round. We've got lots planned for the golf course next year and we hope to provide a golf course that everyone is keen to get out and play.

Improve your golf this winter
We've got two great ways that you can work on your game over the winter period and make sure that 2015 is going to be your best season ever. Nothing in life comes without a bit of hard work and this certainly rings true with your golf game. Driving range membership and a series of lessons will really set you up.
Winter Coaching Packages
Thanks to all of you that have booked up for our Winter Coaching Packages during the past week.
Due to demand, Niall is now fully booked, but we still have places with Andrew and Jonny.
The package on offer will run from 1st November through till 31st March. The package will offer 5x 1 hour lessons (1 per month from November to March) and will be at a greatly reduced rate over our standard prices.
Andrew and Jonny will be available 5 days per week.
Andrew McHardy - £125
Jonny Belford - £100
Driving Range Membership
Our driving range membership has been proving very popular since it launched in February of this year. To really improve your game, you'll need to practice and there really is no substitute for hitting balls on the range. Even if you don't plan to take any lessons, you can still put in lots of work on your game for a very affordable price.
Arguably our range membership offers its very best value over the winter month when you're not going to get out onto the course as often. For just £19.99 per month, you can hit up to 100 range balls every day of the week. If you were really keen and hit balls every day of the week, you could hit £186 worth of range balls for your £19.99!

When the ball is above your feet
This week we are going to look at playing the ball when it lies above your feet. This shot is slightly easier than last weeks "below the feet" shot, but still requires some adjustment. Firstly you are going to have to grip down the club, anywhere from 1 inch to almost on the metal of the shaft which will be dependent upon how much the ball is above your feet.
You should place the ball further back in your stance as the tendency when the ball is above your feet is to catch the ground a little early, and this change of ball position will help compensate. The final piece of the set up is to ensure that you aim to the right of your target as when the ball is above your feet the tilted angle on the clubface makes it point to the left. This can feel strange at first as your mind will tell you that you will leave your shots out to the right, but fear not the physics will take care of this!
When swinging, just keep your movement as smooth as possible, making sure that you complete both back and through swings, and remember that your ball should turn right to left in the air, a straight ball flight is not to be expected.
