New Initiatives
We have had several of our golfers ask us about coaching on the golf course and whether we can help them with their games away from the range.
With this in mind, we are looking at a few ideas where you can really work on your game and combine some range work with practical implementation on the golf course.
One of our ideas is to run a golf coaching day. The rough plan would be to spend an hour on the range at Noah's Ark working on long game, followed by a 'Driver optimisation' session on FlightScope. We would then head down to North Inch Golf Course where we would spend an hour working on short game and putting. A soup and sandwich lunch would be served in Bells Sport Centre Café Active, after which we would head out onto the golf course for 2 hours working on course management, along with putting your earlier work into practice.
The day would cost £69 per person and would include all your coaching, range balls, lunch and green fee and would run from roughly 10am till 4pm.
If this is something that you think you might like to do, then drop us an email info@noahsarkgolf.com to register your interest.
We are also looking at other 'on course' coaching ideas which we will roll out this year.
Perth and Kinross County Boys
We had a great squad day last Sunday with the county boys U14's and U18's. With the U14's we did some swing work on the range before running a skills challenge. I find these a really good way to work on your game as there are challenges and targets set and it gives the player some real focus for their practice. For this test the boys were set 4 challenges.
1. To hit 5 balls 50 yards carry.
2. Hit 5 balls 100 yards carry.
3. Drive 5 balls to land within our marked out fairway
4. To play 12 holes of mini golf putting using only a sand wedge!
The boys absolutely loved the challenge and it bring with it a bit of camaraderie and some friendly competition.
With the U18 squad, we were working on a combination of driver optimisation of FlightScope and how off centre strikes can really effect ball flight and curve.
We also worked on controlling ball flight with particular focus on keeping the ball low for when playing in the wind. We then sent our older group out onto the mini golf with their sand wedges too! Playing from such a hard surface and using a sand wedge can make things tricky. Ball striking has to be perfect, otherwise the ball will be thinned away off course.

We Only Went and Won It...
North Inch Golf Course had been shortlisted for a Perth and Kinross 'Securing the Future' award and Wednesday night was the Ceremony. We were up in the category of 'Improving Quality and Efficiency' and our submission was related to the transformation project that the golf course has undergone in the last 2 years.
Well, we only went and won it!!
We are so chuffed that all the hard work at the golf course has been recognised and turnaround of the business has been so successful. We still have a long way to go, but with 27 new members already signed up this year, we are hoping that 2017 will be another great year.
