Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.

New Stock arriving Daily
It's been a busy week at the range with new stock deliveries arriving daily. This week's deliveries include putters from PING, Scotty Cameron and Cleveland. Golf bags from Motocaddy, PING and Titleist, along with the new Cobra range of clubs.
Over the next few days we are expecting Under Armour clothing, Stromberg trousers & Odyssey putters.
New Range Balls
Following a lot of testing, we have signed up with Srixon golf to be our range ball provider this year. The golf ball performs great and has a good feel to it.
We know that nobody wants to go to a driving range that uses old scabby balls and matts, so we will continue to offer you the best balls and matts available, so that your practice is more effective.
We will be finished the refurbishment work of our ball dispenser room this weekend and the new range balls will be getting into circulation next week.
We will be keen to hear your feedback on the new balls once they are in operation.
Swing Caddie
The first 2 Swing Caddies have just arrived. These great little mini radars will really help your practice by giving you accurate measurement on how far you hit each shot along with club head speed, ball speed and smash factor. Use of the Swing Caddies will be completely free to our Monthly Driving Range members as we continue to add benefits to becoming a member.
At just £19.99 per month or £199 for an advance year membership, you can hit up to 100 range balls per day, have free use of our Adventure Golf Putting and now have access to use some of the latest technology to enhance your practice sessions.

How high should I tee the ball?
On many occasions, I have seen people using the wrong tee especially when using their driver. Using the wrong tee can cause you to hit the wrong part of the club face therefore giving a mixed range of shots.
When hitting a driver, the main aim is to strike the ball as the club moves on an upwards arc. An extremely common fault people have when using a driver is that they hit down on the ball like they should when hitting an iron or a wedge. If the tee is too high to start with and they strike down on the ball the club makes more contact with the tee causing the golf ball to strike the top edge of the club and send the ball straight up in the air.

The Uphill Struggle
Making the correct address position is key to hitting good shots from an uphill lie. Firstly, you will need to select 1 - 2 clubs more than you would normally hit from the distance. You should then aim a little to the right, with the ball placed slightly more towards your front foot.
