It's hard to believe that Christmas is only just over a week away! The weather of late has been anything but wintery and it has been great being able to still get out onto the course for a game. The last couple of years at this time has been much wetter and pretty miserable to be honest, so this is a real turn up for the books.
We have been getting pretty busy at the golf centre over the past week with Christmas shoppers, so there are going to be some very happy golfers on Christmas morning.
This is going to be the last full newsletter of this year, so I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let's hope 2017 brings with it a fantastic year of golf.

Control Your Putting - with Fraser CrambPutting is undoubtedly one of the more challenging and frustrating parts of playing golf.
Putting can be reduced to two things; picking your line and judging the pace.
Reading this article will not help you pick your line, but it should help you judge distances more consistently.
As long as the set up remains the same over every put, I believe that the most important thing involved in judging distance is maintaining a smooth rhythm.
Next time you practice your putting, each time you make a stroke, try to match the speed of the back-stroke with the through-stroke.
The best way to do this is match the distance the clubhead travels, both back and through as well as picturing a pendulum and counting "1" at the top of the back-stroke and "2" at the top of the through-stroke.
This will help you keep the speed of the club head consistent through impact and should help you improve your distance control.
After you have got a good rhythm to your putting stroke, the distance the ball goes can be changed by lengthening or shortening the swing rather that swinging faster or slower.
If you'd like to book a lesson with

Golf Memories We are immensely proud to be a part of the 'Golf Memories' project and wanted to share the video below with you, so as to help you understand a bit more about it. Our memories project was set up to help people with Dementia get the chance to remain both mentally and physically active through the game of golf.
Our group get the chance to hit golf balls on our driving range and to putt on putting course, followed by a cup of tea and a good natter with their friends.
The families and friends of our group have seen some really positive effects on their loved ones and it just goes to show that golf really is a sport for life and can be enjoyed by all ages.

Another successful volunteer dayIt's amazing what you can achieve when you get a group of like-minded individuals together, all with the common aim of improving North Inch Golf Course.
We have been out clearing more scrub from the banking behind the 14th tee and it's looking great!
We have also been painting coloured stakes for our water hazards, out of bounds and ground under repair. These posts will look great when put in place for the new season.
Thanks must also go out to
Lillian and
Anne, who brought along mince pies and shortbread for our well-earned tea break!
