Fifteen months since his last competitive round of golf and this week Tiger Woods is set for his return at the Hero World Challenge. There has been some serious hype over the past few weeks about the return and this can only be building pressure on the former number one.
Those predicting a missed cut have obviously not being doing their homework. There is no cut at this week and along with being the tournament host, it's probably the exact reason Tiger chose to return at this event. With a limited field of just 18 players, this will take a lot of the pressure off. No matter how many Majors you have under your belt, returning to competitive play after such a long layoff is going to be tough.
Just remember how hard it can be to put a score together during the first few Saturday medals at the start of the season in April, following a winter away from the game! Try multiplying this 100 times and you won't even be close to how it will be for Mr Woods.
Personally I hope he has a decent week and that this will spur him on to play more. The only way that he is going to get back to being competitive is of he gets playing week in week out and gets his game sharp enough to play against the new breed of super star.
What I do fear, is if Tiger has an absolute nightmare this week. If this is the case, then I predict that there will be news of another 'injury' and that this will be the end of Tiger Woods the Tour player.
Get to GRIP with your putter
I wanted to talk to you this week about putter grips and how you should be holding your putter. Thicker grips have become increasingly popular in the past couple of years and now make up over 90% of all putter re-grips that we do. In the video below, I'll explain this all in a bit more depth.

Play Better Golf with Niall McGill - Heel your swing
One of the most common faults I see during my coaching is when a player gets trapped at impact position making it difficult to complete their swing.
This problem occurs when too much weight remains on back foot on the down swing preventing the body from rotating to target and as a result forcing your hands to hit at the ball.
Today's exercise should really help you get through the ball to a complete finish and create more width on the follow through.
At address position lift your right heel off the ground and place a ball underneath, whilst keeping your weight evenly distributed.
Now swing to the top of your backswing keeping your weight fairly central but making sure that your right heel remains off the ground.
As you start your downswing you should now find it much easier to get your weight shifted towards target and your body cleared. At the end of your swing, you should find that all of your weight has now transferred onto your front foot.
This drill will help your transition from backswing to downswing and will allow you to really unload your power onto the golf ball.
