In this week's newsletter, I'll be talking to you about your winter practice and how you should be planning. I'll also explain about how important a driver's loft is as part of a custom fitting session and how the stated loft on a driver is not necessarily what you will be striking the ball with.
We have a great article from Fraser Cramb, where he explains how important hip rotation is to driving the ball further.

Hip Rotation Welcome to the first of four weekly swing tips and drills that will be included in newsletters in the coming weeks. The focus will be to explain a few of the common faults I see while teaching, as well as give you some tips and drills on how you can improve in these areas.
I'm sure there are a lot of you reading this that will admit that there could be an improvement to either the distance or accuracy you are used to seeing off the tee. The first thing we will cover is the importance of creating space through the impact zone by clearing the hips.
A lack of hip rotation will result in a loss of power and can make it very difficult to control the release due to a lack of space. This often results in the hands flipping or trying to steer the club face through impact - not good for accuracy!
A good way to check how well you are rotating the hips is to thread a drill stick through the belt loops of your trousers. Turn fully to the top of your back swing and then swing down to the ball in slow motion. Unless the drill stick has rotated some way past the target line - you can push it further!
This is a great way to get into the feeling of clearing the hips through impact and if it is done correctly, it will translate into more distance and a more repeatable position at impact.
If you would like to work on this, or any other part of your game, get in touch with
Fraser on 01738 440678.
