Easter Holiday Junior Coaching   

With the Easter holidays fast approaching and the new golf season getting underway, this is a great time to get your budding young golfers into the game. 

We are running our ever popular Junior Golf Camp from Tuesday, 5 - Thursday, 7 April. 

This will be 2 hours of golf and fun each day from 1.30pm - 3.30pm where we will be learning all aspects of the game.

The cost of the camp is £42 per person and this includes 6 hours of coaching and all range balls hit, along with any golf clubs you may need to use.

Play Better Golf  - Hybrid bump & run

As the new season gets underway and ground conditions are still a bit soft, it can be quite tricky to hit well struck chip shots from around the green. 

The design of an iron sole is reasonably narrow which makes the leading edge quite sharp, especially when the ball is placed further back in the stance. This can lead to chip shots being 'chunked', and as a result a player's confidence can be dented. 

Hybrid clubs have a wider sole design and contrary to popular belief, they are not limited to hitting full shots. Hybrids can be very effective chipping clubs as they brush through the grass with a softer leading edge and less chance of digging in. This club head design instils confidence in the player, and leads to a better control of distance. 

To play the hybrid bump & run, firstly set up with a reasonably narrow stance, grip down the club and place the ball just forward of centre in your stance, with your weight favouring your front foot around 60:40 

You should now rock your shoulders back and through keeping wrist action to a minimum and your weight on your front foot. I would suggest using a hybrid with around 19 - 22 degrees loft as that will give just enough lift get the ball travelling. 

With a bit of practice, this could be your new secret weapon!

The UK's fastest growing sport is coming to North Inch! 

FootGolf, as it sounds, is a combination of football and golf. Played by kicking a standard size 5 football into a 21inch diameter hole, footgolf is a great fun sport that can be enjoyed by all the family, with no experience required. 

The Professional Golfers Association see Footgolf as a great way to potentially introduce a new segment of society to golf, via what is a fun and accessible new sport. 

At North Inch, we will be opening Tayside's first Footgolf course, which will be 9 holes played over the first 3 holes of the golf course. It will be open on a Friday evening and weekend afternoons, when the golf course is traditionally at its quietest. 

This won't prevent anyone from playing traditional golf, they will just need to start at 4th hole during these times and finish at the 3rd. 

Traditional golf needs to bring new people to the game and we see our footgolf course.
